  • Anyone tried a Proedger?

I saw this in a Sears ad and wondered if anyone has tried this attachment on their string trimmer?

I have seen these advertised also but I am not sure how well they would work for commercial use. My feelings are that a good stick edger would be more productive.

Once you get the nack of using the stick edger upside-down it becomes second nature to you. It didn't take me very long to learn how to do it, and now I could never see myself using something like this. It would also seem like a waste of time and money to have to keep putting this thing on your edger everytime you wanted to edge a sidewalk. Plus, the sidewalk edgers made by the commercial companies are very easy to use. I don't see the use of this tool. But if you dod decide to get it, let us know how it works.

guess that would be ok for the light residential use but not for daily commercial applications.

If you were going to use something like that I would recommend Edge it, it has more uses and is specific to commercial trimmers.

Look at Edgit.com (that is not mispelled, there is no "e")

Saw a good use for an old rotary hoe the other day it was one of the ones with the blades at the front. The bades had been removed and on one side was on old saw blade, had an adjustment to turn the blade on an angle. Did the edges really well too.

This little contraption just helps you keep it steady. I have a staight shaft trimmer that flips like in that pic. I use 105 test and edges great. But I have a 3.5hp walkbehind edger I do an initial deep edge with.
