  • lawn boy mowers

i have been running lawn boys for several years now. my old one cut its last blade of grass this spring. i have since bought 2 new ones, 21" with the 2 stroker duraforce engines. my question is does any body use these regularly and do you use the lawn boy 2 stroke oil? i use the lawn boy oil and it works well the mix is 32 to 1. i would like to use a brand that i can use on all my trimmers, blowers ect. the dealer says that the lawnboy has a special additive that keeps the carb. clean. i have used another oil and caused it to surge. i appreciate any feedback.

The LB oil is garbage & is overpriced. Purchase a high quality petrolium based 2-stroke (Husquarvana or Opti-2 is the best IMO). The synthetic 2-strokes such as Amsoil can lead to cylinder problems in certain equip..

I've used LB oil for about 8 years now and have never had one single problem. Recently I used Husqvarna b/c the store was out of LB. Both work great, no problems with either.

thanks for the input! it is a commercial model, i will give those oils a try. the lawn bow oil is expensive and overpriced. and im sure lawnboy dont manufacture their own oil.
              thanks again.

I have LB, and this mid summer I switched everything to amsoil, so far no problems. Oh ya mine is used only 2 times a week, but it does what it was bought for.

I've used nothing but l/b oil in my 2 stroker w/b. I just bought it this spring though, but its running very well...To me if the manufacturer has their own oil for their product, I feel better spending a few more cents and just go ahead and get it. I save more time just doing that than debating on whether I should switch...now unless you're really big, a few cents extra on oil doesn't matter! Hey, I got 2 six packs free of the stuff when I bought it this spring, and I haven't run out of those yet!
