  • Exmark..Not a option

I had my heart set on a Exmark. One problem, the Exmark dealer near me is over 150 miles away. This could pose problems when service is required. The local dealers are: Great Dane, Toro, Dixon, John Deer,
Cub, and a couple others. Im seriously looking at the Great Dane Chariot or Chariot Jr.

Let me know you think about Great Dane and past experience with the product.

    Thanks,
    RK1

The eXmark ztr is the same as the Toro except for the toro has a better deck esp. in side discharge mode under wet conditions.

I would go local & buy the Toro but...

eXmark's leave a better cut in less time.

eXmark has 2 decks which produce comparable results in lush conditions as the SFS. The TriVantage decks are 5" deep & are continuous welded 10-gauge top and 7-gauge side skirt. These decks can mulch, bag, or side discharge effectively & productively.

The eXmark TT & full size Lazer have the UltraCut decks. The UltraCut deck is 5.5" deep, which provides as much lift than the Toro SFS for cutting taller grass. This deck also has a continuous welded 10-gauge top and 7-gauge side skirt and adds a 10-gauge top reinforcement plate and 7-gauge reinforcement rings around the spindle assemblies.

The eXmark deck are welded unlike the Toro's stamped & more durable which may not be an issue depending on the type of cutting you do but I have found them to be more cost effective as well

i think the great dane chariot is one of the worst ztrs out there, they are extremely uncomfortable with the arms between your legs.

By the way, also John Deere has the best parts system in the country...if your dealer doesn't have that part in stock, they'll have it for you the next business day! They'll support you very well...At least check them out. I don't own one, but at least see if you can get a demo.

I love JD's.. The only real problem with them is the price..

I can buy almost 2 Lesco mowers for the price of 1 John Deere.. I believe the JD 757 ZTR retails for about $8000-$9000

Stay local and go Toro. I have a Toro ZTR and love the SFS deck. I admit it doesn't stripe the best, but I think the cut is as good as the Exmark if not better. Also, I own Exmark WB's, so I'm favorable to either. The only real difference is the deck, but you could suffer serious down time if it breaks, and it WILL break. I have found the first three months you usually have the most problems. Nuts and bolts come loose, something isn't snug enough. After that, just good care and maintenance until you get over 500 hours on em'. Just my experiences though.

                      Bobby D,

Are you referring to the exmark or the toro that has a deck that will give you problems the first 500 hrs?

Well since exmark and dixie chopper are not a option ,id look at toro or deere. The brand new deere ztr ive been told by friends very much improved.
