  • Pull-behind trail mowers

I do not have a bush hog and will be getting an account that part of the area will need to be bush hogged 2 or 3 times a year (Approx 1/2 acre).
I have seen the pull-behind trail mowers, that run anywhere from $800 to $1800. Has anyone had any experience with these before. Are they very rugged?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Clean green

    Green,
Nope... haven't had any experience with trail mowers although I have seen several advertised that can handle sapplings up to 2" in diameter. Have contemplated getting one myself or picking up a walk behind brush cutter for servicing ditches and fence lines. Let us know if you do get one and how it works out for you.

    Good Luck,
    Curtis

Thanks, andersc. I'll keep you posted if I get any information. I am also looking at the walk behind brush cutter.

you might be able to find an old Gravely W/B with a 30" bush hog deck. They will really do a job. Brand new they are over $ 8,000. But there are plenty of used ones out there for $ 1,000. Mine is a 1965 with dual wheels and still kicking butt.
