  • Good ladder for this line of work?

Has anyone here used the little giant ladder system I've been seeing advertised on T.V.? I think I've also seen them in one of the home centers. Due to a knee injury I'm a lot more comfortable working from a scaffold. This ladder loolks to be a lot studier. I spent most of yesterday chasing and re-installing the aluminum soffit material on my house during a wind storm, and I'm feeling it today.Hanging off a ladder in 60 mph winds, no fun. Maybe this should be in the thread about being out of shape? I want to add a trimming ladder to my tools this year and wondered if the litttle giant would do. Thanks for any opinions you might have.

    They're built like a tank

I've only seen them in a store but they did look to be built sturdy enough. I even considered one for those specialty jobs with really wide hedges, long runs of hedges, etc., but figured for no more of those specialty situations than what I do, it just wasn't worth the money for me.

But like you said, if your having problems with regular ladders, then by all means get you the tool that will make your job easier.

Thanks for the replies. I just had a chance to use a telescoping aluminum ladder (telesteps) this week; incredibly light, sturdy, and compact. Its great for going inside to work, without banging into things. There was also very good feedback on the Little Giant by home inspectors prior to the telesteps coming out.

I looked at my ladders and I have (3) warner fiberglass step ladders. (2) warner aluminum extension ladders, and (1) LITTLE GIANT aluminum step ladder.

The litte giant does look like quality.

I have several heavy duty ladders. (1) 6' step (2) 8' step (1) 24' extention all fiberglass. I have 2 aluminum extentions a 36' commercal and a 20' home owner. I have these for doing my roofing and home repair. I have been thinking of getting one of the ladders like you talk about due to its size and versatility.

I feel that the little giant type ladder system would be a good ladder for most jobs and would take up only a small amount of storage or hauling room. I should serve you well.
