  • Z-sprayer, Jr. vs. Perma Green Ride-on

    Okay, I know this has been a talk about topic, but I am now at a point of buying either the Perma Green Ride-On or the Z-Sprayer. Both equipment seem comparable with the engine, dry and liquid applications and so forth. But, the z-Sprayer has the capabilities of carrying an additional 100 lbs of dry materials, not including the hopper which holds 120lbs. The Z-Sprayer has a 50' reel attached and is all stainless steel, which I think the Perma Green is the same structure. I have heard good things and bad things about both, but the biggest hold up seems to be the price. The Perma-Green is about $4,800 and the Z-Sprayer is $6,895. I have heard that the Z-sprayer is higher, but $2K higher?

    Now the Z-sprayer has the boom and the PG has two spray nozzles for liquid apps. The good thing about the PG nozzles are that you don't have to worry about hitting things with them. The PG has something like independent suspension that is belt driven or something like that, whereas the Z has hydro, I believe.

    I guess I could keep rambling on about the pros and cons, but what I am looking for is any feedback on either piece of equipment. I am going to demo Z-sprayer at the end of the month, and I am going to call PG to set something up with them, but I want to hear from other users. Please let me know your thoughts and why you went with the model that you did.

    Most of us that don't want to throw $5K down the drain just mount a $350 lesco electric spreader and/or a $100-15 gal 12v sprayer on the front of a commercial mower.

      Lorenzo,

      The problem that I am having is trying to locate a fair decent price on the sprayer and the spreader. I have no problem going that route and setting something up on my 60" Bobcat Z. I have seen different spreaders and so forth, but the sprayer setup seem to be the problem. Everyone is either on back order or nothing to met my specs.

      Any suggestions?

      Oh by the way, how was Wildwood, NJ?

        Spreader=lesco electric $350
        Sprayer=Northern tool 15 gal spot $99

        Use a pickup truck bumper mount 2" box receiver front and rear.

        Mount the spreader on the front.

        Mount the sprayer to one of those mesh platforms that mount into a 2" hitch. Mount your spray nozzles right onto the platform.

        Blanket spraying of selective lawn fertilizer will be a thing of the past now that lebanon has confront on granular fertilizer.

        And I don't visit Cape May County Until the week after Labor Day when I can get an efficiency room in the 'Crest' for $40 a night!!! Once school starts the place is again a joy to visit and the ocean water temps are very high and the air temps and humidity is way down vs. July and August.
