I'm looking at used and new WB's. I Live in the Midwest. I would like to know from those who have used all available brands to give me their professional opinion(s).

2ndly, when looking at used, what is the typically lifespan of a gas burner and what are other problem areas to concentrate on.

    Thanks in advance.

    I've used Toro's, Exmark's, Ferris, & Gravely.
Toro's got the best deck design (SFS)for discharging & control (T-Bar), Exmark HP series has the best mulching capability & smallest footprint & ECS tracks better than T-bar. I can load more Exmark HP's on a trailer.
Ferris & Gravely were second rate. Petrolium based hydro's, pistol grips only, poor discharge & mulching capabilities.
If I had to choose one it would be an Exmark & Toro. Coin-toss.

Thanks for the info. I went and tested a couple of Exmarks,Hydros, today. Really liked them. My only wish would be that it had the the T-bar like the Toro. I guess I would get used to it. How does the deck flow when mowing damp to wet grass vs. the Toro.

Try hustler they are way ahead of everyone else in this market. Steep price tag but in the long run you will be better off. There faster and the grips are so much better.Exmark and toro are also good machines. Ferris I have used and never had a problem. They redesign the gravely this year it should be much better. But before you buy anything else look at the hustler then compare

I know of Hustler first hand. They are manufactured 20 miles from my "X" home town. They make mowers that I'd put up against anything in the Industry. The only problem is that there isn't a dealer around.
