I'm thinking about buying a back pack blower for blowing leave this fall. From what I've read in some previous post it sounds like the Redmax 8000 would be the best blower for the job. Before I buy the Redmax 8000 I'm wondering if it's powerful enough to blow thick leaves and blow leaves out of long grass eliminating the need for a rake.

8000 has about 50 more cfm @ tube & a 10cc advantage but weighs 4lbs more. Jack D. is awaiting delivery of an 8000 to see if the power increase is worth the added weight. Echo 750 & Redmax 7001 are both excellent choices for serious leaf removal.

There is just no way to discribe to someone who has not used one just how productive Redmax blowers are for leaf removal. I own a eb7001rh and was just blown away, pardon the pun, by Redmax blowers. A three hour rake job reduced to 45 minutes. If you intend to use this blower primarily for leaves, buy the 8000. Trust me, you wont regret it.

Today I got called to clean a gutter. To try to make a little more money I asked them if they would like me to blow the leaves off their yard. It was raining on and off so the yard was covered with thick wet leaves on top of grass that must have been over 6 inches long. My Redmax 8000 had no problem blowing the wet leaves and had no problem blowing the leave out of the long grass. The 8000 got the yard looking a lot cleaner and removed a lot more leaves than would have been possable with a rake.

The new Shindaiwa EB802 should be a beast, same power as EB8510 but a true 2 cycle for lower maintenance. It is 79cc, bigger than RM8001 which is 71.9cc.
I have the Maruyama BL8100 64cc. Supposingly 720cfm and 200mph at the tube. I doubt it come close to the RM8001 but it is even a little lighter than the Stihl BR600 and it is a 2 cycle Kawasaki engine. It is the exact same as the Kawasaki KRB750. I paid only $389 in the dealer.
