  • Bobcat-Ransomes Transmission Problem

I have a Bobcat-Ransomes mower that I believe is having a hydro transmission problem.
    The model is a T-3103
It's an older mower that pulls with two front wheels and third wheel is located under the seat that pivots for steering. The speed is controlled by a foot pedal that it pushed at the top for forward and at the bottom for reverse.

My problem is that it loses speed (and eventually stops) occasionally and after you stop and wait a few seconds, it'll go again. The motor runs fine, so it appears to be a transmission problem. It has a real problem with pulling up a hill. It's seems to do better if the engine speed is lowered slightly. I have changed the hydraulic filter and the fluid
3 times and have flushed out the system as much as I could. it was working fine but I had some water in the fluid. I wanted to change the fluid and when I did that is when I stared getting the problem there is no one around me that will work on it for a reasonable price. Any suggestions would be great I have checked out for leakage and it looks ok I have check and tightened all the bolts I could

Did you ever figure out your tranny problem? Sounds to me like you need to tighten up the belt that drives the hydra pump. I have a TK16 trike similar to what you described and am very familiar with the maintenance procedures. If you have questions let me know. Good luck!
