    Hello Everybody:

I want to know this from Magna-Matic Users.

I Know that you're able to sharpen the Blades back to like it was when it was Brand New? In What a Minute or Less? But...

How much Extra Blade Life do you think you get when using the Magna-Matic as compared to using a Hand Grinder or Even a Bench Grinder? That's what I want to Know from... odin00 or Zack? Anybody?

Also the Blade will Hold an Edge a Lot Longer T00!

I thought the same thing about the Blade Sharpeners until I saw the results. Trying to compare a Bench Grinder, Hand Grinder, Hand File or Belt Sander to one of these sharpeners is like telling a Customer that you can cut their entire lawn just as good & fast using a Trimmer with the same results as using a Commercial eXmark. Trust me, there is No Comparison at all.

BTW: I've read numerous post at the other forums & Everybody had Good Reviews about the Magna-Matic Sharpeners!

We use stock exmark scag and dixie blades and after sharping until they get enough sharpening the lift is gone they perform just as good as new for us.But we put a fresh change of blades on everyday .
I love your product and we most heartily recommend it to any and everybody with in hearing distance[]

Mr. Magna Matic, I probably would have been fine with the Mag 9000. I tried the table but found I could sharpen curved just as well with the reg. configuration. I don't use many curved (eXmark mulchers) so likely more practice on the table would have made it easier. Regardless, the design is excellent.

          Bench Grinders?

To properly sharpen a blade the stone must turn into the blade as opposed to a bench grinder that turns away from the blade. Blades stay sharper longer, last longer & sharpen quicker & more precisely.

You will save $$$ & increase productivity. & once you get the hang of the Mag Balancer/Sharpener combo you can perfectly sharpen & balance blades in less than 1 min.

            Administrator,

I think that you expressed the value of professional equipment very well, with the Trimmer vs. commercial mower example.

I will also admit that perhaps the one problem with our products are the prices - BUT please understand that we build an ultra-high quality product - that we passionatly stand behind. In today's market place where many things are being built more and more often "to be thrown away" or replaced every year - we stand by the idea of building things to last.

We have been in business since 1958 - and most to all of the balancers made then are still in use today. Just like your mowers you do not absorb the cost in one year - the costs of capital investment equipment are depreciated. Our products should be considered the same way.

Your blades are the absolute most important part of your mower - they most greatly directly effect your END PRODUCT. Not only does a lawn look better when cut with sharp blades - it will be a healthier lawn.

The landscapers out there who are not familiar with our product and feel that their belt sander is as good - is excatly why we give a 30 day guarentee, so that we can prove that idea wrong.

Again, thank you for your time,

Maybe im the exception but to me the old saying you get what you pay for always rings true.
To me it's a no brainer you make the best you deserve the best price for your product.
Just like like landscapeing you do the best work you get the best custormers.

Mr. Magna Matic, there is a grease zerk on my 8000 that is not mentioned in the manual.

Was this factory greased & how often does it need application?

George Deason, Zack, abd Jack D are the same person.

                  Why is that?

How many guys on here are using either the mag8000 or the mag 9000? I don't currently use one, but might consider it for next year.

                      I use old lesco wheel

Looks kind of like a bench grinder with 1 wheel and a $3.00 metal blade balancer. bought lesco used for about $100.00 with new wheel and guess i would have to buy another today if it went out. Used the fille method for about a year and that is for the birds when you have 3 blades on each machine.

Mag 8000 is a nice unit. Probably overkill if you don't use the wavy blades & or don't sharpen alot of blades but definately a step-up from the 1/2hp Mag 9000.

I have been using a 4.5 in grinder and they are cheap with a blade balancer.
IMPORTANT: remember to leave a 1/16 in thickness at edge, do not sharpen razor thin or they will dull quickly(per exmark recommendation)>
