  • Exmark: How long will it live?

I just bought an Exmark Lazer-Z 60" Cut, 25 hp Kohler.[][:p][8D] I need to know its life expectancy so i can figure my cost of using it. I take very good care of my equipment. (You can see my post in Mechanical, Equipment, Trailers and Repairs- Synthetic or not Synthetic). Thank You for your input. Im sure this has been asked before but i cant find it on any other posts in this forum. Ive read on other forums that they last somewhere between 2 and 5000 hrs. but i would like to get a more acurate timespan if possible. thanks again for your exprtise.

With good care you should get many hours. But, I always bet on 2000 hours for calculating purposes. I expect to get 3000+ in reality.

        Heat and dust kill engines.

Add that Donalson(sp)air filter and full syn oil after a break in period of 200 hours.

I would also add a hydro fluid oil cooler if not already equipped.

Yeah, I was told by my dealer that it should go to about 2000 hours before you need any major overhauls. I figure, I might use about 500 hours a year or so around there. So I should get with good care, 4 years mostly trouble free. Keep the filters clean and oil changed regulary. But, they also told me they have seen them in there with well over 5000 hours. I had an old 36inch WB Exmark for 10 years, easily had 5000 hours on it. Replaced the brakes twice, thats how long I had it. Still ran and someone bought it from me.
