Sounds like a good deal, and with that many hours, it is almost brand new. I suspect it has a liquid cooled engine, is that right? If so, I think it will last even longer. Life expectancy is usually between 3000 and 4000 hours. Though, heard of them with 5000. Liquid cools last longer cause they run cooler. I have a 52ich toro ZTR, with 19 Kawi, paid $5900 new. I would definitely buy it. Though, I wonder why anyone would buy a 48inch mower with such a huge engine! Usually those engines are used for heavy commercial cutting where you maybe only cut every other week and need the power. Is it a residential guy, or small company mower?

I am not sure but I think they used the mower for his lanscape design Bussiness, to do touch up work. The owner is a older guy. His ranthe landscape buss. I dont beleive this thing paid for itself with those low hrs. thanks for the info guys! I wa told that Toro suggests you should atleast charge $1 per. minute for comm. equip if so they maid $18000 if my math is correct??? at 300 hrs.

For $5600 I would rather spend $300 more ($5900) on a new one with a smaller engine on it. I bought a 52" Toro ZRT last Spring for $5900 myself brand new. It has a 19 hp Kawasaki on it and does great. I don't see the need for more power than 19-21 on a 52" or 48" Z. Anything more than that is just going to suck up more gas. The only way that mower was $10000 new was if it has a liquid-cooled engine on it. Otherwise, either they are lying or they got ripped.

did they tie down the mower from 4 points on the trailer? If they didnt, I would not buy it. It is the #1 mistake mowing businesses make with their ztrs. all of the strain is put on the hydros and those are EXPENSIVE to replace. If they tied it down and maintained it properly, I would say you have yourself a nice deal there

              Zeke,
That is a phenomenal price for the Z master. Also don't think you are getting an air cooled motor the Z has the 25hp Kohler Pro which is air cooled and one of the best motors in the industry right now. Don't forget that parts for the Kawasaki motor are going to tend to be twice as much compared to the Kohler, and usualy specially ordered.
I have a demo Z master Z355 for sale in my shop for 7,000. It has around 500 hours on it as well. The reason this particular unit uses 25hp is due to the Dense Pak bagging set up. This machine will do a amazing job during your fall clean-ups, its like going over the lawn with a hoover. Remember this is the 350 series you are looking at, all the other replies are regarding 280 series and lower. This unit is most comparable to a Walker mower which lists around 12,000.

                The Captain,
this has the Kholer engine is it water cooled or air cooled. Does this appear to be the 350 series

To the best of my knowledge the 48 inch deck toro is only available on the 350 series. In the years of the 350 series production they have never used a liquid cooled engine. The engine on that machine is the 25 hp Kohler Command Pro. The Toro MSRP on a Z350 is
                  $11,378.

                    Zeke,

I looked at this same mower last week, however i didn't make an offer as it was too far from my home office. I thought it was a good deal too. Hope it works out well.
