My John Deere Lawn Tractor Has Started Cutting Out Under Load Whether The Blade Is Energized Or Not. The Problem Is Intermittent. On Start Up It Takes Longer To Get The Engine To Idile Smoothly And When You Try To Speed The Engine It Missses And May Stop All Together. Once Its Is Warmed Up I Can Cut Normally, Although It Has Started Missing And Stop In The Past. The Repair Shop Has Had It And Stated That It Did Not Do Anything Unusual While There. It Sounds Like A Spark Advance Problem To Me. What Is The Purpose Of The Module? Any Help Will Be Appreciated.

Hey Paul,
This module controls engine timing, If you have a multimeter you can test this.
There are two different styles used, Here is the procedure for both. If you post which one you have I will post the coil test as well.
But, Before you do this testing will the engine act like this if the choke is slowly applied ?
Also, About how many hours are on this unit ?
