  • Ejection Seats

Well guys as youve seen my friend mariner plans to fill his 450 lb. fert tank up w/ 200 gal. of water in the back of his 6 cylinder 1/2 ton f-150. I think if we all put our heads together we can come up w/ some sort of ejection seat for him to use at stop lights and stop signs. Keep in mind he probally has a bench seat and may have passengers. Any suggestions? Oh ya by the way. "I got shotgun".

Dont blow a gasket man. Its all in good fun dude. Your post says 1/2 ton . and i know what a 1/2 ton is i own 3. i also know you asked our opinion. everyone urged you to reconsider running a 200 gal tank in it. you still suggested you would do it anyhow. Ive done this several times so i know how funny it is. IT DONT WORK. But hay man i just thought id mess w/ ya a little about it. Its all good . Dont hate me.

I'm not mad at ya. The F-150 is all I have and I don't want to buy a 100 gallon and have to upgrade later. I won't be filling all the way just yet at least. I've drove a GMC regular cab with a 200 gallon in it plenty of times with no problems. My truck has 4 wheel disc brakes and an rear differential upgrade.

Ok man ill come clean. 2 years ago i totaled a brand new 1/2 ton gmc hauling a 200 gal tank w/ about 75 gal of liquid nitrogen in it. i was on a slope w/ a 90 at the bottom and was on my phone. it had quit raining about 1/2 hour before. I go through this route 4-5 times a day sometimes but when i tapped the brakes there was nothing. I slammed it in low and tried to turn through it but it wasnt pretty. first accident since i was 17. im 32 now. i took the entire passenger side out on the gaurd rail. I drove off cause there was no spills and no other cars involved but i had to go to a site dispatch another truck me and 5 other guys slid the tank into another truck and i called a wrecker and my insurance company. And i still here about it.the truck had 7000 mi. on it and they totaled it. I picked up a new truck the following evening but w/ new decals and wasted labor and time and deductable i figure it probally costed me a good grand.

Glad you made it through. When I was driving the gmc with the 200 in it I drove very carefully until the liquid dropped throughout the day. Never had a problem. It did eat brakes though.
