  • Mower Deck Swival Caster Wheels

All the ZTR's I have seen have stationary mower deck wheels. I have found that I dig into a lawn now and then when I turn due to these stationary deck wheels.

I have the optional swival castors that I normally use and had to put the standard wheels on for a day or so due to having to replace the bearings on the castors.

Does anyone else have this problem with the front deck wheels digging into a lawn when turning? Do I have to adjust something to keep this from happening?

    Hi,

While I don’t know if its true for all ZTRs, the manual for the exmark 72" ZTR says to set the anti scalp wheels 3/4" above the desired cutting height.
Set this way, I have not had any issues with the wheels damaging the lawn. That said, I did have them set 1/4” once and that did cause issues.
