How many of you change your trans grease on gear drive eXmarks annually as the manual suggests? I inquired at my dealer and they didn't think it was necessary to ever change the grease unless you have a trans repair. My thoughts are, you probably wouldn't be having the repair if you had changed the grease as recommended. The dealer wasn't even aware of the recommendation and said they didn't sell much of the grease, so it's probably not necessary. I didn't ask how many trans' they fix a year. What do you think Transman?

Seen a couple Peerless gearboxes destroyed, mainly due to a lack of maintenance. The grease inside looked about like dog crap. -
Honestly not sure what the gear drive exmarks recommends, but really sounds like a good idea. However, we use the hydro, they do not recommend changing it, but recommend changing the hydro filter every so many hours. I believe it's 250 hrs, just changed mine last week.Had to add a little over a quart of 15-50 mobil one, so some of the oil gets changed every time anyway.
