  • Northstar pressure washers

I was looking at the Northstar pressure washers on the Norther Tool website. Are they any good? Anybody use them?
I'm thinking of adding power washing to my list of services for this coming season.

    Your opinions...

I'd steer away from it. If you're serious you'll need a 4gpm machine (industry standard) and it'll run you about a grand or more depending frame, motor etc...

I currently run a 4gpm 3600psi unit with a hotbox. Also a surface cleaner is also a must if you're doing surface work,, I have the Big Guy.
I'll write more after I get back from a basketball game or you can email me.

What I was looking at doing for added services to my biz are deck cleaning/sealing, driveway cleaning, and houses. I would guess more gpm=faster completion of job? Right now, I'm a one man show... and wouldn't be doing alot of pressure washing jobs would I be able to get away with a unit that runs less gpm? Or does it make sense to by the 4gpm unit for the long run?

By the way... I like the quote at the end of your post! I typed it up and hung it on the wall next to my desk.

I have a CT 750. It works perfectly for cleaning all our equipment and trucks. It's wall mounted, dependable, 115v, and only uses about 3 gal/min water. check it out:

Lesser grade pressure washers have low gpm's. It is not a matter of water conservation, more gpm's can be much better than more pressure. However do exercise caution here, if you go after a deck with to much. or use a straight tip you may find yourself dammaging wood and in a situation you don't want to be.
