Echo PE200 or PE230 Edger?????

I was wondering is either of these are decent edger? Im worried about them being underpowered. If anybody has any experience with these please post. Also is you know of any other edgers in that range that are pretty good let me know. Thanks.

I use the Shindaiwa LE260, awesome. Plenty of power.

I can't remember. I bought the LE261 first, I think about $350.00 or so, then took it back and found a LE260, more raw power, less emisions BS. But I can tell you this, I haven't used my walk behind edger ONCE since getting the shindaiwa, it's got power to spare.

Were I you, I would not consider either the 200 (homeowner) or the 230. I would step up to at least the 260 (similar to the above mentioned Shin, only with more torque) or better yet, the 310. The PE 310 features a double thick blade that is unbelievable, performance-wise.

I am certain the shin 230 will be what I buy. Ive researched and it seems to be pretty good. Any one had any probs?

You may find that the 230 lacks power needed for overgrown or thick jobs. I'd get the 260.

For a few extra bucks, you won't regret it. Personally I wouldn't even consider anythng but the 310 (311).

The Little Wonder has a lot of power with it's RedMax engine and works great, but 2 things bothered me:

-too much plastic to suit me
-a bit unwieldy for everyday use, in my opinion

It sounds like it's doing a good job for you, so I wouldn't shut the door on the idea if I were NotSoPro.

After using a typical stick edger and my Xtra, that pic pretty much says it all from my point of view. For me it's just more comfortable to use.

Well, because it looks too big and bulky, would take up too much room on the trailer, and I don't think it would be as fast as with a stick edger. If I were going to use something like that, I'd just break out the McClane edger.

The wheelbarrow handles do make it look bigger, no doubt, and it would take up more storage space..... but it only weighs 16 lbs and all of the weight is below your hands when you're using it. I guess we just get used to what we use. You've obviously gotten excellent results from your 260 so I can't blame you for loving it, but I won't use another stick edger after using the Xtra.
