  • Who is teaching DynaScape?

The college horticulture department 2 miles from home is now teaching DynaScape, that's who. Interesting, very interesting.....

RRS, you should see this horticulture department. State of the art facility completed last year. They have added dynaSCAPE as their auto-cad software. I'm so glad they made the move from DIG to DynaSCAPE. It's like night and day. If you stay with it and pass the extended course work, you can get certification from DynaScape.

I can't understand why anyone mows lawns other than to get established and then they should dump it ASAP.

I'd love to learn to use a cad design program. The school I went to doesn't offer DynaScape. HRT-234 Advanced Landscape Drawing Applications was about as exstensive as my classes got into design. How much is the software?

As for that I agree to some extent, yet mowing and maintenance still makes up a good portion of my revenue. It seems to me that mowing is a neccesary evil that most everyone must put up with for a while to get the ball rolling. I know for a fact that I'll always have a full service maintenance division in my company. Hopefully one day I'll only be maintaining my installs, but until then I'll continue to add new better paying annual maintenance customers, and weeding out the lower paying ones. I guess that's a cycle that nearly everyone that makes it in this business faces.

I majored in Environmental Hort. and was exposed to the core classes of landscape design. They now have a complete degree in landscape design and I hired a person who graduated from that program. She is going back in Jan to take the DynaSCAPE training. I'm really pumped up about it. The pro edition is 2K, add in the extras and it's ~$3K.

I thought mowing was a necessary evil too. But I took a chance and completely stopped maintenance and I have zero regrets. How many times have you done maintenance for a customer and find a scaper at your mowing account doing a 10K add on without having to do the low profit PITA mowing? That scaper is out cherry picking the best jobs without having to fool with mowing.

                Just my opinion.
