Sorry, I've never trimmed hostas before but how do you do it? You guys haven't really naswered the question I was looking for lol?

Do I go ahead and use my hand pruners and just snip the hostas back or is there a special certain place i have to prune them?

Do I cut all the leaves off so that the only thing left is the branch of the hosta? or do I trim the hosta's leaves meaning I trim around the leaves, leaving the leaves in tact? or do I just cut a few of the hosta's leaves off?

Just cut them as low to the ground as possible, and cover with a little mulch. Use whatever means works best for you.

When you guys say cut to the ground, you mean CUT OFF THE HOSTA LEAVES and it will grow back?

So i'll be using a hand pruner and snip the hosta leaves off???

Thanks for the advice jim. I picked an old knife my wife might or might not miss & whacked away. Worked great. Beats the old string trimmer anyday.

If the Hostas aren't too close to the house or if they are in the open I just hook up the bagger on my lazer and ride right over them. Not alot of people want it done but everybody wants their monkey grass cut like back like that.
