  • wanting to find small trees

hello everyone i'm fairly new to this sight and dont know anything about landscaping. i was wanting personal info on small trees for my own yard.
I already have two mimosa trees and was wanting to plant about six to eight trees in the back yard. I live in central illinios and was wanting something that grows 25-30ft. and fairly fast if any. I also want it to branch out 20-30ft. all suggesstion will be greatly appreciated. oh by the way no nutting trees, flowering trees would be fine.

    thanks jim

I always like to stick with native trees. You have less disease & nothing looks worse than a palm tree in a snow storm. But I have no idea what's native in your neck of the woods. A good reference book is National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Trees. It gives a good description with photos. Also, don't plant too many, too close together. Good luck.
