Ornamentals with italian decent

One of my new clients this year is wanting me to spice up the front area of their Italian restaurant. I have but some giant panies around a rosemarry bush in the planters at the entrence so far. Is there anything of size that I can put in the larger area of the bed? I was looking at red olive trees but not sure if i want to go that route. This client does not mind spending the money as long at he likes what he sees.

Na, i was think of something that would give a nice flower during the spring and summer. Then stay green the rest of the time.

Purple smoke tree - Continus coggygria 'Purpureus'
Chaste tree - Vitex agnus-castus

Both of these are common in Mediterranean gardens.
