what kind of tree andd how much does it weigh? can you get a small back hoe in there...

have you done this before? things have to be perfect, the hole... once that tree is in there, you dont want to have to take it back out.

just really think about it 1st. i turned down a job to plant two river burch's.. they weighed in at 700lbs each.. no thanks.

        good luck,

Have you ever watched monster machines on the discovery channel? The big nurseries will have the truck that you will need. I was quoted $500.00 last year for the truck to replant a 20' tall tree. Not sure how big a 300 gallon tree is but I'm sure it will have to be lifted from the rootball. I wouldn't use a backhoe or front loader to pick it up.

I watch monster machines every chance I get. My favorite show was the big earth movers/mining trucks. holy S---

The tree is southern magnolia "Brackens Brown Beauty" 20'x8'

Not sure how much it weighs but it costs 2 G's. A nice tree Im sure.

            Thanks for all the replies.

All you need is a skid steer and a 36" auger. You may need to auger the hole a bit bigger of course, but that's all you really need. It will also move the tree.
