I dont know what to charge for removing bushes. It is a small evergreen type shrup that is about 6 inches highbut is about 4 feet in diameter. I would only take out 6in down and across of the root ball. Also, There is a Lilac bush that is tall but not wide. It is about 7FT tall with the typical lilac trunk. 1/2 in branches that make together the trunk about 1 foot in diameter. Again, not removing much of the roots. 2 people working on this. Thanks for the imput guys.

Just estimate the time you think it will take to get it down and multiply that by your business's hourly rate. Don't forget to add in disposal fees. Large, overgrown shrubs create a lot of debris to get rid of once they're cut down. Also, if its a large shrub, the stump can be tough to get out by hand and you may need to rent a stump grinder. Try to look under the shrub canopy and get a feel for hour much work it will be to clean up the stump area.

Very good point. I did a removal involving several shrubs that had to be removed. Underground gas line I noticed had to be moved before any shrubs could be pulled. Could create a serious issue if not noticed.Originally posted by work itAnother quick note. Most shrubs are planted close to a house. If this is the case you also need to take into consideration water and gas lines before breaking ground.

Considering I don't have a clue to what evergreen you have to remove (sounds like a Juniper) I wouldn't be able to figure out how long it would take to dig out the roots. I also don't know how many years the shrubs have had to establish themselves. I will tell you that mature lilac bushes have massive root systems and are going to take a lot of time and labor to remove. Other than that....guess you'll have to use this as one of those dreded "learning experiences".
