River rock install

How much time am I looking at on average for installing a yard of river rock? It is irregular shaped but probably 1/2" to 3/4" in diameter on average. Also, when installing, how many inches deep should I go and what sort of coverage will I get?

I have only installed mulch so I have no idea what to expect with rock. Thanks for any input.

It all depends on how far you have to move it to the location. You should get good coverage with a depth of 3". As for time, I charge 2 times the cost of spreading mulch. Even if it doesn't take you twice as long it's a lot more labor intensive due to the weight. Charge accordingly.
