the ones i mow range from about 4,000 sq/ft to about 30,000. i get from $35 with my highest being $50. around here $55 is about tops on less than an acre.you need to get a measuring wheel and measure your yards and then charge accordingly keeping in mind the amount of trimming and blowing plus in your case the hilly terrain in your area. by the way my biggest yard is not the $50 cut. if it were here i would say that $60 was too much to charge for a half acre, but if you can get it go for it.

If you're going to cut grass for a living you need a measuring wheel, it will help you make more money in less time. It will help you with your bids too!

            My personal favorite.

Durable, economical, foldable.....I have one I keep in my truck all the time.....never know when you'll need it. Buy one off ebay and save $$$.

i prefer the property appraisers website when they say 'it's a little over 2 acres' you find out it's more like a little over three acres real quick

                What about a GPS?

I've heard of people using a GPS to measure properties. I wonder how well that works?

When I get older I'm going to get one of those things.

I buy measuring wheels from Home Cheapo for about $ 60.00 each. I keep one in my personal truck as well as my work trucks. They come in ever handy when the time is right. They also instill a air of professionalism in the customer that they are dealing with the right person.

Don't buy the Tiny wheel model, they don't work well on turf and skip. They are fine on hard surfaces. The 1 ft diameter wheel will give better reading. They also can take up a lot of room in a truck cab, but are worth having there all the time.
