a few years ago, one of the local nurseries dyed some for a local school district (whose colors were blue and white). Was interesting....

It's starting to look like I'll be doing the dye myself. I'm going to give it until Monday to see if anyone wants to get paid to ship me 3 bags.

I was searching Richmond online for blue mulch and didn't find much. Possibly one place may have it. I set a reminder to call them tomorrow.

I did see this in my search.

Some sites I found.... The mulchmagic site is a machine that dyes it. The barkking site has a sky blue it may pull up if not its over or the right towards the bottom. Oops just looked at it again they are in Austrailia...The Iowadnr has names and numbers of blue mulch distr.

            To anyone searching, thank you.
Casey, if they have it let me know.
Mike, Australia is a bit far. I emailed mulch magic asking for contact info for anyone they sold blue dye to (nothing back yet). Iowa's email is defunkt (mailbox does not exist). I might try calling though.

If nothing comes about, I will be attempting to dye it myself this weekend.
For those of you who say "why blue?": I am putting a 8' Grateful Dead symbol in a customer's yard. White stone border and lightning bolt, red and blue sides with annuals in the mulch.

If anything comes up, let me know.

Mike, I have the same list. Emails are no good and I have not called them directly yet, but they may be getting calls if nothing turns up.

Snap a picture if all goes well. It'd be interesting to see! Hopefully you'll find that blue mulch!

Rich, I just called and they don't have blue.

I really wanted to be part of the making of a Dead symbol too!

MM, The project will be done. As for a pic, the camera is on it's way back to Canon for a "E18" error.
Casey, it was worth a shot, thanks.
MikeofLKN, thanks for the idnput, but I'm not too big a fan of shredded tires. It had crossed my mind but the thought of steel belted radial shredded is not something I want.
Tomorrow might rain so I will be testing out some small dye batches.
