  • Late October Project

Just some pics from what I've been working on as of late. Scope of project is to instal drainage, rebuild bluff, plant to stabilize bluff, landscape new pond (pond was formed in the beginning of the season), redo driveway, and fix all that was messed up to do this work.

At least they have a nice view.

too bad you couldn't build several large plateau areas going down w/a coupe retaining walls. What is it? 25-30 ft drop? It would make for some nice entertaining areas or a place to kick back and chill out.

About a 1/2" thick wad of paperwork. I was shocked that it all went through.

Would be nice, but that would never fly with the NYS DEC (New York State Department of Environmental Conservation). Top of bluff is 39' above mean high tide.

Every aspect of that job looks fun. I'm sure it's paying you very well though.

Intresting looking job. How long does it take for those plants to stabilize the hillside? Are there any chances of it washing out before it grabs hold?

An inch under the beach grass is jute netting. The netting will hold the bluff until the roots take over. With the winter comming up I don't expect much of the grass to survive, but if it does then there will be less to plant in the spring. It is a rapid growing plant, but not so much in the winter.

do you have to warranty any of the grass since you said you don't expect it to take hold over the winter? Any other pics, sounds like other work was done (from the first post).

I have pics from the walk through yesterday but didn't get them from my camera yet. I factored in the cost of a replant in the spring and the customer is aware that there will be plants added in the spring.
