I have been asked to bid on my fisrt commerical job which entails weeding landscaping beds. Is there a product that will kill the weeds but not the other plants, or is the best way to pull the weeds?

Bottom line ,,,NO. There are "grassy weed" herbicides that are safe to use over most ornamentals but i strongly suggest to read the insert label to assure you do not shoot a plant not covered. As far as other weeds.. "broad leaf" type weeds, Try to sell an app of round up before pulling. Spray all that you can w/out hitting any plant material and pull the rest. Explain to them that round up kills the weed where as pulling will typically just make 2 weeds come up. Charge them for the round up ,the labor to spray it ,and the labor to pull about 5 days later. Than next march sell rthem an app of pre m in those areas.
