hello everyone, i bought the gator mulching blades for my exmark. now all the grass blows out the front and rolls up into my face anyone else ever have this problem. If so please give info on why or how to fix this problem. i really like the way the gators cut but cant stand the grass blowing out.

Please purchase either an eXmark anti blowout baffle or flanged baffle kit for your unit depending on your grass type.

i had the same problem with the stock blades that came on the mower. put the mulch kit on but could not break the blades loose so i left the stocks on. the grass was all in my face. when i finally got the blades which came with the kit on everything was fine. excalibur high lift blades is what they are called.

Please note that the blades that come w/the kit are eXcalibur Off-Set Mulch Blades or eXcalibur eXtreme Mulch Blades & not eXcalibur High Lifts.

Stock eXmark Blades are eXcalibur Notched Solid Foil, while most companies, including Toro, provide Solid Foil High Lifts as stock.

thanks jack, so which one is best suited for the kit. i thought for sure that when i bought some more they were high lift and comparing the two , they were identical. so why do the notched ones cause the grass to come out the front?

Mr delasgh, the stock Notched eXcalibur's provide extreme air turbulance and lift which makes them ideal for discharging but poor w/the kit as they cause the blow-out problems you indicated. The Solid Foil High Lifts will produce less turbulance but still too much lift for normal mulching scenarios. The eXcalibur off-set mulch blades provide the correct amount of lift and reduced blow-out.

Please sharpen mulch blades frequently to maintain effectiveness.

That is one of the better things I like about my advantage deck and after a slight mod, (mine are pre 2004 decks) I know have custom baffle's for mulch, which cured my only other grip.
