  • Lawn in Iraq (worth reading)

The following is a touching story and picture for me that I promised to pass along. If anyone can ID him as one of "our" boys, as in fellow LCO, please let me know.....

I cannot validate the authenticity of this but the photograph sorta does.

Here is a soldier stationed in Iraq, stationed in a big sand box. He asked his wife to send him dirt, fertilizer and some grass seeds so he can have the sweet aroma and feel the grass grow beneath his feet. If you notice, he is even cutting the grass with a pair of a scissors. Sometimes we are in such a hurry that we don't stop and think about the little things that we take for granted. Upon receiving this, please say a prayer for our soldiers that give (and give up) so unselfishly for us. You don't have to send this on, but who wouldn't...?
First of all you've got to ask yourself....

    A touch of home

    I like that!

Everybody wants to have a little touch of home when they are away.

I'll bet he gets *lots* of encouraging comments from the other soldiers in his camp.

    Thanks for sharing that,,, Cliff

I assume this is a picture of Fairbanks.. IF so i just would like to say THANKS A LOT MAN!!! YOU GUYS DID, AND ARE DOING A GREAT JOB!!!

I dont know how you feel about the war and its none of my bussiness, but seeing the women in AFGAHNASTAN crying on the news because they were actually able to vote for a President leads me to believe you guys are owed more than anyone could pay back.

I personally think all you guys and gals in service are doing a great service for our country as well..If your action wasnt taken, who knows what terrorist attacks we might have had in the U.S, dureing the past 3 yrs.

Just look at Libia. You guys scared the shIIT out of them and they caved in and got rid of their WMD..Nobody knows what you may have prevented besides freeing 50 million people from a tyrant.

Thanks for your brave service, and sacrafice...SINCERELY,TRANS

If you go to FAIRBANKS POST on the right hand side is his info with his LOCATION, JOIN DATE, AND NUMBER OF POSTS...

If you put your mouse on the little yellow guy running along and click on it, it brings up a link with info on sending a message "VIA AIM" to (MARINE 1775 CORP)

I would assume this is legit...

The only thing thats odd is in one of his posts i read i thought he said he was 16 yrs old so i just assume he was kidding. Most people forget to set the clock on their camcorders and cameras so i dont know if that would mean anything.

For all its worth my message was for anyone, and everyone who might be serving..... SINCERELY,TRANS.
