  • Disappointing News from the Land of Stihl

Jack D. had the opportunity to demo the new 4Mix Blower & could not see much difference in power over an Echo 750. The unit was, however, very quiet and not as bulky as expected. There will be two versions, a Quiet Blow, for Hospital Zones and Rich Folk areas and a Let Her Rip model which incorperates more Omph.

Also in the works is a 4Mix Trimmer w/the weight of a FS85, using a hollow shaft, that will only accept string heads.

    RedMax is still King.

    Speaking os Stihl

I thought I posted this before. I guess it didn't make the trip. Have you had a chance to use the yard boss with any of the attachments? I saw one set up today with the broom head.

That blower will strengthen as it breaks in, won't it? Redmax' does and I wonder if the Stihl' are the same. Redmax are my favorite though, too! Played with one yesterday that had the tube control and no taper on the tube tip. Whoa that thing is huge!

The Yard Boss has excellent torque and you can get the rubber sweeper paddles as an attachment, however, Jack D. has little use for mini-cultivators and prefers the Shindaiwa Power Sweep for paddle uses.

The 4Mix blower should gain Oomph w/break-in but it is doubtful that it will surpass current offerings from Echo or Redmax.
