  • GroundsKeeper Pro software

Hi guys! I just got hold of a trial version of this software called "GroundsKeeper Pro". It's really a cool software for your data base. <---------Edited by Administrator--------> We're planning to start our own lawn care service and I'm sure this software would be of great help. Thanks!

You are off to a bad start here, please refrain from asking for things you shouldn't!

Please try to start over in a Good Way a Contributing Way!

GKP is great, but you absolutely must know your numbers for it to work. The program is designed to use a formula method of estimating. You must follow everything the program asks for or it will not be of any help.

I'd say it won't be very useful for a startup, but for someone that's been in the business for almost 4 years now it's been very helpful. The reason I say that is because you have no idea how long it's going to take you to plant a 6'-7' B&B Crepe Myrtle with ammendments, or how long it will take you to mow 1000 square feet, edge 1 linear foot, install a yard of mulch, and etc. I just started using the program about a month ago, and I can't see how I made it this far without it. I've kept very accurate record of my manhours, costs, and overhead for each job I've done and every property I maintained over the past few years. The only problem I was having was that I didn't really know where to apply all this information. GKP has been a godsend for me. Plugging the numbers in has been a cinch because I already had all the information in front of me. There are better programs out there, but they cost a lot more.

One thing that I wish the program had is a way to add in a difficulty factor in your estimates. The only way to do this now, is to add it in manually yourself. There are a few other things that could be done to make it a little more user friendly, but for the money you can't beat it.

I might have to actually try it out. We sent off for a demo well over a year ago but never installed it. There was something about the cheesy looking graphics that gives it the appearance of someones throw together program. Perhaps I'll look a little deeper into the program.

Yeah it does have a cheesy look to it, but it functions well. I didn't like the demo because it only allows you to enter up to 3 customers. I didn't get a feel for how it could help me until I puchased it and switched my entire database over.
