What was the machine in the first pic? What machines did/do you use for this?

Looks great. My lawn looks like the 1st pic. Or worse.

It's called a Giant Vac I just bought the same one about a week ago and it is a money maker.

Is that one weeks drop there RRS? Are you spacing out your cuts a little farther this time of year? Most of my accounts have a variety of trees around them so I have to clean up each week or 10 days (on the lawn areas) for most of October and November. Beds get two good cleanings, mid and end.

If you are buying a push blower, definately go with the giant vac over little wonders.

Homer: It's called a "lawnmower". I invented it. Want one?

10HP Giant Vac in the photo. Other machines used were two Redmax 8000's, the bulk is carried off with tarps, and gone over with walkbehind mowers with grass gobbler catchers.

I do my contracts one of two ways.

                    1. Weekly mowing April 1 - Oct 31 with mulch kits on mowers. After Oct 31 everything else is done at hourly leaf cleanup rates.

                    2. Annual contracts with whatever services the customer wants included billed over 12 months. Leaf cleanups are performed bi-weekly Nov 1 -Dec 31.

This is two weeks drop in the photo. Next year I'm only doing 12 month contracts, and basic mowing will include leaf cleanup or I'm not accepting the customer. We do a lot of one time leaf cleanups in addition to the contractual work, and I only do them on an hourly basis plus disposal costs. In my opinion it's simply too difficult to estimate cleanup work.

If you are buying a push blower, definately go with the giant vac over little wonders.
                    Without a doubt.

With the two Redmax blowers and the 2500CFM Giant Vac going we can move an incredible volume of leaves at one. In fact we've rarely used the tarps at all this year, when last year we used them on nearly every property. No exageration, these three machines have increased my productivity on leaf cleanups by 25%. You gotta charge for them though, the two blowers are $500 new, and they burn 3 gallons of fuel in 6 hours each.

what is the goin rate per hr down your way? we are charging $75/hr, that is a two person crew, most jobs aver 1hr-2hr dependin on the nook that we have to get leaves out of. we use one back pack blower and a little wonder. then tarp to our truck with a vac on it.

About the same. $35/manhour for basic labor. Goes up from there depending on which machines are being used. I had to increase a little to make up for the cost of running the big blowers.
