I got myself a Redmax 8000. Used it about a month, and then the bolt that holds the engine assembly to the actual backpack came out. I returned it on Monday and haven't even heard from the dealer since. They said it would take a day. Still waiting......... Now I gotta use a back up craftsman handheld blower in all these leaves!
I tightened one of those bolts today. I'm gonna be frucking pissed if these things have constant problems. I wish husquvarna made a blower as strong as the Redmax becuase I have a 165 that probably has 1000 hours on it that's never been in the shop that starts on the first pull.

Knock on wood, the only problem I've ever had with mine was a recoil that froze up and needed to be lubed.

          EXACTLY what Clim said!!!!!! EXACTLY!!!!!!

You guys sound like young girls who say "Well, I didn't know what that OIL light meant, and I didn't want to walk, so I just kept driving!.

Learn how to check nuts and bolts for tightness. Use blue threadlocker if you find any that keep coming loose. With the kind of high-frequency vibration those blowers are subject to, you had better EXPECT some stuff to work itself loose.

Jason741: If you aren't breathing fire up the ass of that dealer, that is YOUR fault. Does he KNOW you are a business owner, that you NEED that equipment to make a living? You better MAKE SURE he knows. You took it in on a Monday, and then on a THursday you are still waiting for a 1-day repair? THIS IS YOUR FAULT! Get over there and BREATHE FIRE! What kind of a backwards ass dealer is this guy? I would NEVER TOLERATE service like that.

Another thing... The bolt came OUT?????? DO you guys NEVER inspect your equipment?? For crying out loud!

I just got back from the dealer. There is a screw that holds the choke lever that came loose. They said they had the parts on order, and when it backs out again to bring it back and they'll put the new improved lever in it.

Is there a danger of the screw entering the carb when it comes out? If so I'd put some locktite on it till the repair is done.

No, once the air intake is in place I don't think it could come completely out. They should have put locktite on it. I'll probably do that to both of them tomorrow. It's only threaded into plastic so I'm sure it would strip easily.
