I work full time at a local factory...make a good living however corporate cut all over time ...I will lose about 12,000 to 14,000 per year. I work a 14 day rotating shift..I am off 14 days per month is this enough time to do this ? Could I make up the lost income ? How much capital ? I would like to possibly do this full time (2 guys have quit to this full time) is it as easy as they tell me to get started...I am not afraid of work nor scared to cold call..I just need suggestions from some pros..Thanks.....

i'm not a pro by any means, but it's easy to get started in the lawn biz, but it's a little different to make it.
i love working for myself and all, but it's a headache, but that's why you're able to make more money.
i think 1st off you should keep your job and try to get enough accounts to cover the 14 days, but if you dont watch it, you'll be working your tail off and be worn down. trust me, i work at UPS part time ( for benefits) and getting up at 2:30 is getting to me and really slowing me down.
i'm not sure about making up the 14,000, but you can make some extra money for sure.
good luck and take a chance.

Exactly, Phil. Starting part time in lawn care (while maintaining full time employment) is the perfect way for Joe Lunchbox to get up and running. Study the topics on this site THOROUGHLY for a couple of weeks (use Search feature to find topics!) to avoid fatal errors...there's no need to re-invent the wheel. High priorities for you:
1. Gain customers
2. Purchase commercial equipment to support expansion
3. Protect your family (Liability Insurance, Tax Responsibilities, evaluate LLC/S-Corp options)
You are BLESSED to find this forum at this stage of your Lawn career. Folks provide expertise and are willing to help others, and this will put $$$ in your pockets. Ask questions only after exhausting the Search function. Good Luck!
