  • Tree Stump

A customer has 2 tree stumps left from an old tree they took down. Why do people always leave the stump? Can i take my chainsaw and angle cut it untill it is flush with the ground?

Stump grinder. You can rent the smaller ones, they work really well.I have used them several times and they do a nice job.Grinds the stump several inches below surface of the ground.

yup stump grinder fer sure, but are these big ol monsters or little ones ?, do your clients want the roots to be ground too? If its really huge I would sub it out and take a % of the cut and be happy with that. Grinding a three foot wide elm stump can be a tenacious event if your machine isn't up to the task. Any how best to you !

Y aid sub it out to. I have a guy that i can call @ 8 am and he usually has it ground by 1pm. If i have another tree going in he has the hole bored ready to drop. i give him about 15-20 a year and i probally get that many calls from people he refered to me and ive never met him. I only make about $20 off a grind but its hassle free.

If you contract out the grinding and you never met the guy then who does the estimate on the stump? How do you get your cut? This is very interesting because I grind stumps and would like to hand out my card to LCO`s in my area. Right now I work with a lot of the local tree companys but no LCO`s yet. Also whats the going rate for in your area?
