I wanted to see how my new camera works outside so i shot a few pics today.

This is one of the $50k residentials yall have heard me brag about. This Birch had a wall structure all the way around it. Yesterday we tore it out and tues or weds of next week i will be rebuilding the structure w/ a nicer rock. I cant wait. Ive been looking at the old structure long enough( 8 years). Finally got him to say OK. I had 2 guys ripping it out within 15 minutes before he changed his mind.

While i had all that old rock out,, i took care of a small mud problem he had back where he keeps his dogs. I slapped this together real quick and installed "frosted Rose" orn. gravel on it to avoid bark mulch in the dog pin. I was just real lucky because i had a truck up the road with 411 and bagged soil on it.

The next step back there is a slab to replace that crappy stepper. I post a new pic next week. Youll be surprised the differance it makes.

About a 4 minute drive away. Here is some colonial stuff i did last fall. This is another 50k residential 7 acre. I subbed out the shed,, than i scaped it w/ the same boxwood theme i installed on the house 9 yrs ago. The grade was really bad and required alot of work. In order to avoid the grade in the back (by that window) from getting any higher ,,we opted to stagger the fence. Its got 50 boxwoods around it i think and 6 rose bushes.

Heres an example of the grade problem i encountered. Like i said,, it wouldnt have been as big of problem had the owner not decided to slap a window on the rear on its way up. Had i went any further w/ this wall it would have "dwarfed" the rear of the building. Funny how a simple window puts a wrench in your spokes. We had to decide,, we opted to leave a tad of grade in and salvage the window.

Heres a closer look at what i did w/ the entrance. I tried to get a "old worn" "colonial". Otherwords i didnt use a level or square on this portion of the job. The brick is left over from the building.

Look closely on the other side of the gate and youll see the ball and chain i used to enhance the "colonial" theme. I didnt take a picture of it from the back because i was short on memory but i will be taking a shot of it next time im there. If anyone wants to see how its mounted ,, let me know.

Heres shot of 2 other walls i installed while the building was going up. This is actually another building on the property. Its a 2 car garage Alarmed storing 2 very very nice italian sports cars. These are actually 2 of 3 walls like this i built on the property with the same brick the builder was using on the new building. Each wall has 2 drains per.

You can also see where we spliced and redirected the down spouts on that building. Moving all that water away from the new structure in the left of the pic.

I ran 24 man hrs a day ( at least) on this site for 6 weeks straight last fall.

While we were there watching the building go up,, i built this 100' wall partition from the woods. If you look closely i took chunks and duds and built another small cap adjacent to it. Between those structures is a large path that now contains "ruins" structures i built for her along some paths on her property. Those paths dwell on and around the Big Darby which is a federally protected waterway. The walls down in the paths actually look like old "colonial" walls that have deteriorated. Its really cool.

Back on that other property,, there are 2 areas of utilities concealed w/ basic spruce. Next week ( i hope) we will incoorperate the 3 pines and the oak into 1 large raised bed . Not sure whats going in the other one,, but this one is going to be a large annual display as far as i know.

That little paver is built with 57s and 411. And the brick is bedded on sand. The 2 timbers on the side have 2- 30" 1/2" rebar rods each,, the front and back timber have 3 per. They aint movin!

It was just a little somting something that i came up w/ one day out there with all that brick,411 and extra timber laying around. Original plans were sod entrance.

The only thing that worries me is that A) you left enough room around those utilities for any work that has to be done at them, and if so, B) that you or the homeowner keep them trimmed so that there is always that space. Would hate to see the power company guys come in there and rip it apart.

Ya. Heres the thing. Those have been in for about 4 years. They were 4-5s i believe. Very slow grower intentionally.

You gotta know this guy,, if theres a problem down the road he'll just have me tear em out and replace them. Just like he had me tear out 3/4 of his foundation scape last fall. He had 20K in it ,, i installed it in 96 i think. He was just bored w/ it. Said get it out,,, hes tired of looking at the same landscape for 10 years. Just how he is. We have some plans now ,, probally roll on them in may?

But i wouldnt have been afraid of those trees anyhow. You can still drive a 61" behind them. If theyre gonna cause a problem its gonna be years down the road. I aint stressin.Neither is he. It would have to be something pretty significant to be a problem. They actually just put the bright green box back there,, and now that i look at it again i bet that 61 wont go back there now. Oh well,,, aint gonna matter in a minute anyhow.
