  • other lawncare jobs?

    hello.....
I'm just starting the whole lawncare business, i've been really focused in on mowing, and am wondering what services i could offer that is both profitable and a service tht a 17 y/o teenager is able to do..... I drive so thts no problem, and i have a 12x6 heavy duty( 2 axle trailer) and a full size truck & a buddy has an s-10... I have alot of good mowing equipment and such, but tons of other equipment, so shot me a line

i'm entertaining the thougt of spreading much, how do you work your prices up for this service?

      Mulch Estimating Cont.:

For example mulch costs 30$/yard and I can spread 2 yards per hour by myself. So I would charge 60$per yard of mulch to be spread.

You should start looking into licensing for chem apps. Get a hedge trimmer and some other pruning tools. People seem to want one to do it all when it comes to maintenance.

          mulch pricing

and $60 a yard would be too cheap in the DC metro area.

Mulch costs are $9.25 a yard in Northern VA for double shredded hardwood.

I charge $75 a yard (or 100 sq ft) for freshening existing beds and light edging on those beds.
I charge $100 a yard (or 100sq ft) for making new beds and cutting a 4-6" deep spaded edge.

          Good Luck

If you have a place to take stuff, offer to haul off some of the junk people have laying around. Stuff that can't fit into trash containers usually sit around forever.

The best thing you can do is just start mowing and get like 35-45 weekly customers then, start doin other stuff for them, like preasure washing, gutter cleaning, spreading mulch/pine needles, snow removal, things along that line, and Then if you start gettin alot of bussiness hire a mexican and one white guy give the tools of the trade and set them out there and make money of them working
