push mowers

I am looking at purchasing a push mower soon (it will have to be non-commercial brand because of my budget). I saw a Bolens brand at Lowes Home Improvement store. Does anyone have any advice, recommendations or experience with this brand? Also, what are the advantages/disadvantages of a rear bagger versus side discharge push mower? Thanks.

Try to get a Toro Recycler 21" mower.. They cost about $299 and are great machines! I don't bag with a 21", but I still prefer the 3-in-1 Toro..

Steve, is that the one with the 6 or 6.5 horse, Tecumseh engine? I was told to stay away from those.

What is your budget? Cause I just went to Lowes and purchased the SR-621 Cub Cadet with a 6.5 hp, Kawasaki engine. 6 speed self propelled, rear wheel drive. Good mower...would recommed it!

You can get a Toro Personal Pace for 385dollars with tax at home depot
Its not commercial grade but it seems to of helf up fine so far still starts on first or second pull and weve used the heck out of it for a yr. It mulches great and bags ok and it has a side discharge attachment which ive found it be helpful. The best thing about it though it mows fast can cut a small back yard in 10min that would take us 15 or 20 with a 900dollar commercial.

I have the 6.5 horses.. Yes they have the Tecumseh engines, but I've never had a problem with them..

if you have a tractor supply store close they have a huskie brand it and awsome mower 6hp brigs for 199.00

If it's 4 cycle be sure to get one with an oil filter & full pressure lubrication. Generally only the commercial units offer these features.
