overseeding in the spring

i ended up aerating and overseeding 2 lawns this month. i know its not the best time to do it, but the customers wanted it done and understood the risk.. one of the customers wants the lawn mowed this week, he has a good bit of established grass thats probally lookin a little shabby now because its probally been 3 or 4 weeks since the last mowing. how long should i wait to mow? i was always told wait till the new grass is 3 to 4 inches high. i haven't went to check on it yet, but i am gonna go see it later on today, we have gotten a ton of rain.. but i still couldn't imagine anything comming up by now.
