Mulch and termites

Is wood mulch treated with anything? Customer said she had a termite problem when I mentioned wood mulch for her beds.

Subterranean termites and wood mulch have a well established relationship. If you mulch, and most of us do, keep it at least 18 inches away from the footer of the house. On the other hand if you have a WDO (wood destroying organism) license .............!
