  • golden euonymus and nandina border?

this lady wants a 1x1 mix of golden euonymus and nandina every 3'........ 54' length and 6'height.....staggered mix of carpet junipers at the bottom.....any thoughts?
how much time is that worth? 36 plants...preparing bed...removing monkey grass and grass and weeds

measure stick is that corner of the bed

any thoughts on the color scheme she chose? varigated shrub then the nandina......is the contrast too much over the winter?? can't say i've seen the mix b4...this would eventually become a 4'-5' screen

Forgive my opinion, I fix a lot of mistakes

It will look like crap for years...forever. Golden Euonymus is scale heaven, The nandina will take a long time to fill in, a tough winter will thin it out.
Why not offer some options that will last and add a little beauty to the landscape and not be an eyesore to the neighbors.

Alternating plants in a straight row on a berm...might as well buy one gallons from Wal Mart and step away, don't put this in your future portfolio.

What view are they trying to block, do they need the screen in the winter, site location, wind, full exposure, irrigation, budget, etc., lots more questions.

A sawtooth pattern of your plant material will lend a much better look, no matter what you put in.

From your pics, you appear to be a zone 7-8...thousands of plants and 2 of Wal Marts dirty dozen are all that come to mind?

Give us some more info and maybe some other ideas to help will spring up in this thread.

      Good Luck
