I noticed on Friday a problem in that I am not familiar with........There were what appeared to be hundreds of holes approx. 1/4 inch in width by 1/4 to 1/2 inch in depth all over (between 20-50 per square foot). I saw this again today in a public park that I visited. All are in bermuda. I contacted a "turf specialist" where I purchase chemicals & described to him. He commented that he has seen birds do that to a lawn where earthworms are very abundant. I don't think I'm buying that one. He said it didn't sound like grubs to him (too early and not the apparant turf damage) To me it appears that "something" has hatched and emerged from the ground. I've been trying to research on the internet w/no luck. Maybe mole crickets? Anyone have any ideas?

When I worked at a golf course we had a big problem with the white grubs everywhere and the crows would love them they would eat them like candy. they would also ruin the fairways it was a never ending battle. The grubs weren't so bad it was the crows who were ripping up the turf. We ended up just shooting the crows.Comment

Try applying Milky spore disease i think it's called for grubs it works amazing and i can't remember exactly what it's called go to your local garden store they will have it home depot doesn't carry it as far as i know.Comment
