Anybody ever know of using a utility vehicle (Polaris Ranger) in the business so it may qualify as a tax write off/deduction? Maybe a stupid question but I had to ask. On another note, this site has been the greatest help in starting out in my first season this year. I am nearly covered up and have smiling faces from all my customers. Thanks for all your help.

Thanks for the input guys, it really helps. It would definitely be a help in debris removal and I really like the idea for use in aeration and hauling mulch. Do you think such a purchase should be made under the business name to facilitate matters in the tax area; it would seem so to me. As far as snow removal, you're absolutely right; but when it does fall in large amounts it can be hole high to a billy goat ! Thanks again.

Are you using it as part of your business or for personal use. You should be able to write it off on taxes. Have you already bought one of the Pollarisis also an how do you like it.
Used a couple types of utility vehicles here but dont own them, EZ-GO brand... lately use it to run the sprayers an we use it to pick up trash/debris an that kind ot stuff so keep in mind all of the uses.
Where in huntsville are you also LOL, same city here! or whats your company name wonder if I have seen any of your trucks. I know i saw one smaller truck the other day with a Polaris Ranger on it and I'm thinkin it had a walk-behind mower on it.
Anyways have fun an good luck!!
Weather its for taxes or not, you will like the machines!!! VERY HELPFUL TO SPEED THE PROCES OF CLEAN UP< UP

How did Elwood insinuate being greedy? All he said was to "write it off". Maybe you misread the thread? The person asking never even mentioned using it at all for personal pleasure. Now if he did, then sure, do the percent thing. But it was never mentioned.a.k.a.---> Erich

This is what I would do...
Write it off & if you get caught you get caught you just pay it back later. Which I doubt very seriously you will?

my partner just bought one this year. It is his for his deer hunting, but we wrote off half of the amount
the accountant told us to keep track of what we use it for and how many times and that percentage is what you write off. - We are in the MIDDLE
We use it to pull a small sprayer to spray weeds and it has a boom sprayer on it
