With the wet weather we've had so far this season, I find myself
rarely cutting dry grass. I've been a little concerned about it,
but I've checked and rechecked the appearance of my lawns immediately
after cutting and several days later, and I notice no difference in
cutting wet or dry. I've never had a complaint about cutting wet,
and I suppose that it's because my customers are so glad to see me
show up. Most of my residential customers are elderly and have little
else to do but wear a path in the carpet pacing back and forth until
I get there. I love my elderly customers, God bless 'em, but they
do get impatient. What I told one of them one time about cutting wet
is that there's less friction between mower blade and grass blade so
that the cut is cleaner and, therefore, healthier for the grass.
For all I know, it might even be true!
