BTW...have one question on the cd presentation method. Outside of a large commercial, multipage, multimedia bid, don't you think people are too inherently lazy to take an extra step to be pitched? lol..We always found you have ten seconds to hook or lose a potential client with sales materials. There has to be a lure that makes them just have to find out more info.

Sell, Sell, Sell = Money, Profit, Success = Happiness!
The above is geared toward people in the Lawn Service & Landscape Business. I don't think there's many property managers snooping around here unless they are job scared or trying to ruin some one else's job.
I don't think 10 seconds is near long enough, educating the customer takes a while & of course there's many that you can't teach anything?
I've landed quite a few jobs explaining that I'm Licensed, Insured & pay Workers Comp... They don't have to worry about me or my employees suing them because we are covered & operate as a legitimate business.
If Unlicensed & Uninsured Dudley cuts his foot off walking up to a mower with the blades engaged, Dudley could sue money saving home owner for way over a 1,000 cuts & then some.
Some times it takes explaining to the customer that you have the equipment & manpower to do the job.
You just got to find what sparks their Interest & run with it until you make the Sale... Or you go to the Next Potential Client & Try Try Try Again!GrassMaster, LSF Administrator!

Agreed...my point was only that the knowledgeable can make a lot of work happen without having their hands on every phase, part of the whole computer thing instead of the actual field tools normally associated with green contractors, from a public perspective.
10 seconds applies to stand alone sales pitches, whether they come as mail, a door hanger, a truck side, billboard what have you. We are so bombarded with advertising these days, that people are becoming numb to it, making their decisions to give it attention or ignore it in the, you guessed it, ten seconds. Think about how you look at a magazine or newspaper or watch TV. Obviously, you need more time to close a sale and educate the customer, but you won't get it if those ten seconds don't get them to pick up the phone, right? = )
