  • Is this too expensive?

    Hey Everyone -

For small to medium sized residental lawns, I'm going to offer 100.00 a month.....

Do you think people will think this is too expensive? Should I go down a little with the price?

    Thanks!

That sounds to cheap to me unless you only spend less than 10-15 mins at each property. Another note some times there are 5 cuts in a month.....

im in the same boat, figuring out what to charge. for example if you get a years contract. you figure how much would you charge for a single cut on the lawn? then figure each time your going to have to cut per month each month. 24 cuts a year? 40 per cut? 40x24= 960$ for the year. 960$ divided by 12 months = 80 a month. or just double the cost of one cut, thats if your only going to cut 24 times a year. how many cuts do you make average per year per lawn?

        Define "small to medium sized"

          1/8 acre: $20
          1/4 acre: $25

          1/2 acre: $35

These are only estimated rates. Your quote may be higher or lower depending on the amount of obstacles and time involved.

          1/2 acre: $45
          5/8 acre: $50
          3/4 acre: $55
          7/8 acre: $60

Courtesy A+ Lawncare...Gotta give credit where it is due.

I charge slightly higher than this and I get 100% of the mowing that comes my way. Base your prices on these and you'll do fine.

I try to keep fewer customers right now because I am not in a position to be running multiple crews but I maximize my profits by upselling my other services to these customers:

            Pressure Washing
            Gutters Cleaned
            Hedges Trimmed
            Beds Edged
            Design and Installation
            Snow Removal
            Tree Trimming

I'm working on getting my pesticide license for next season.

I don't take my equipment off the trailer for less than 30.00, unless the customer has another property they need maintained, then I may go as low as 25.00, but I am in and out!

Bump up the prices. CT is not a poor area and you have expenses and head aches that you need to be compensated for. If you are trying get your foot in the door, get in the nicer areas or you will be doomed to cut the dustbowl crap lawns for minimal $.
