Jack D. has 3 8000's. He has had numerous problems w/the choke lever but no engine issues w/thousands of hrs. including last leaf season. The 8000 blows significantly harder than any other backpack on the planet including its closest rivals the Echo 650/750 and Redmax 7001. Please wait for the 8001 if concerened about first run problems.

I have three of them as well, and I've had problems with the chokes also. The only thing I've found you can do is tighten the screw whenever you clean the carb. I also had to put loc-tight on every screw on the machine becuase they kept vibrating loose.
No engine problems though. I'd definetly buy another 8000 even with the problems. The power is worth it to me.

Well i really like the redmax 7001 and it seems to be a great blower.. my old partner has one.. the 8000 are fairly new .. maybe they have a problem that will be fixed ... they have a great warrenty so take it and hopefully redmax will fix the problem ... i love their products that ive used

Jack D. has several 750's over 2 years old that have needed nothing except gas/oil and a dash of duct tape.

I have 2 shindaiwa EB 630's one is 4 Years old and one is brand new and have had zero problems with either and they both start right up every time. Great machines and plenty of power I couldn't imagine needing more power than these units have. Take them for a demo and you'll never want another blower or trimmer.

Seascape, which Husqvarna models do you run? We have a few Stihl br420's that have been perfect since day one with no maintenance. They purr.
But about a year ago I bought 3 newer 'Magnum' Stihls that replaced the 420's and they don't seem to run as smooth. None of the newer ones do.
So being that I like Husky for trimmers and such, maybe I will try out the blowers you have luck with. Have you bought any of them recently, and do they operate the same as your 5 year old ones?a.k.a.---> Erich
