  • What is your oldest piece of equipment?

The oldest piece of equipment I own dates back to around 1935 which is 70 years old as a help to some of our recent public high school graduates.

I will have to snap a photo of this thing since I can't find an image of this beast on the net.

About 20 years ago a 80 year old women gave it to me. It was just lying in the back yard up against a fence. She said her father brought it home from a WPA project.

Anyone care to guess what it might be?

Not sure what it is Mr. Stone. But my oldest piece of equipment that actual gets used weekly is my Gramps old heavy duty wheel barrow. I got it after he died. It's over 50 years old and weighs 3 times more than any heavy duty unit sold today.

Matter of fact, everyone still calls it 'Your Grandpa's wheelbarrow'. Gotta love it.

I'm guessing an old grinding wheel, the type you foot pedal. My great Uncle had one but it went to my sister and brother in-law when he passed.

My oldest piece of equipment...I guess that would be me at a few years short of a half century. Man, where has the time gone?

This aint much, but I have an old railroad oil can. The ones with about a two foot spout.

I too figure an old hand powered grindstone. I have one w/out the frame. It was grandma's.

                        Casey, that is way cool.

The wheelbarrow was the companion to my piece of equipment. They were used in road construction.

Another old lady had that wheelbarrow but she would not give it up.

What I have is a hand roller. The roller is about 10" of concrete wrapped with steel and is about 24" or so wide.

It's completely buried in the garage right now but I will post a pic to the thread in the future.
